Oh dear.

It looks like NASA's lost another shuttle. BBC story here.

Fingers crossed, obviously, but it doesn't look good.
I hoped I'd never see such a thing again. Several news announcers have mistakenly called this space shuttle "Challenger."
Understandably, I suppose. The BBC had some old footage from the day Challenger exploded. It felt like yesterday.

It must be awful for their families, who'll have been expecting to see them again so soon.
Laurel Clark, one of the Columbia Mission Specialists, is from Racine, Wisconsin, about 1/2 hour south of me. I don't even want to think about what must be happening in their hearts and homes right now.

Even worse, I don't want to think about what the media is going to do them. ::sigh::
