a hundred thousand fireflies

The concert last night was rather excellent. Gary Walker, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Ludwig's Seventh and a hundred thousand things going bang. Still, that's less than half a firework each, so it could be argued that the sponsors were being stingy. The wonderfully organised gingiber and anonymous_seth had scored garden tickets, so we lay back between the trees and watched the sky explode in comfort. Mitch and Jim were there, which was good - I'm only seeing them about every year at the moment - as were fabalafae, retrogoth and Marianne, Bobby, and Ben.

I'm still coughing a bit, but it's better than Monday. Hopefully I'll be back to normal over the next few days. I've been reading The Banksonian. Very interesting, if you're a fan of Mr B's works. I've been thinking about Use of Chairs a bit. Maybe I'll have to reread it again soon.
Sorry, yes. Of course you were. But it wouldn't be like me not to forget something.
hmmm... have you looked at the new Iain M covers? To me, the ship on the Cover of excession looks oddly similar to Battlestar Galactica...
I think I see what you mean, but I've only seen wee graphics on the net, not a real copy in the flesh.

The new Feersum Endjinn cover's odd. Not really to do with the book at all.
Annoyingly, I was about five metres from where you guys were. Sethlara's attempts to contact me were doomed to failure, cos my phone's ringer had been turned off by accident for who knows how long.
It was a great show, wasn't it?
Fantastic, yes. Wonderful.

We knew you'd be around somewhere, but it was dark.

Excellent news. And Stoo coming back too? Even better. Yes, we have to meet up. It'll be great to see you again.
