Thousandth post. What was I thinking of?

And, more to the point, why did I need to think of it a thousand times?

Yesterday I went to work, discussed some future microscopy with a punter from upstairs, had a meeting and went home. Today looks like just the same, except I haven't gone home yet.

Yesterday, when I did get home, a CD had arrived from Tony (thanks), with very excellent songs scratched onto it. Although it was very nicely put together and a lot of the songs were very good and appropriate, The one that jumped out was by the Walkabouts, who it turns out are a band I should probably have picked up on about ten years ago. Still, better late than never.

If Iraq was Afghanistan repeating as tragedy, are we about to have the US assembling a coalition of the willing-to-invade-Yorkshire?

Also, an interesting article for the percussion-inclined

Addendum: I phoned Tucson as well. That's good. I wouldn't want to not know what day it was. We have a microscopy component that splits images into two by colour. It comes in a lovely little moulded plastic briefcase that looks like it should have a tactical nuke in it. We didn't, but now do, know how the filters and dichroics we'll need fit into the picture. Fascinating, no?

No.

No, not really.

Hey, hey, hey... let's not be hasty. It's West Yorkshire. North Yorkshire is completely harmless. You won't find any dangerous cultural diversity in York or Harrogate thank you very much! [I'd keep an eye on South Yorkshire though, they're a bunch of freak down there.]
I take as proof of the non-existence of God the fact that the bureaucrats who created "South Yorkshire" were not erased from existence by a lightning bolt.
Though that might just mean God is Lancastrian.
Though that might just mean God is Lancastrian.

Gradually the truth will dawn on the unenlightened. Although can he be genuinely considered a merciful God if he created Yorkshire?

Having seen some of the alternatives, yes.
