serious

Too many late nights.

TNAC yesterday was fun, although I only saw half a band. CJ came over to get ready and then I drove us over. Nervosa didn't play (laryngitis) and I missed Deathboy by going over to my boss Nick's 50th, which was quite fun but involved a lot of work talk. His daughter's band were very competent but played a far too tasteful version of trad jazz for my taste. I got back, parked the car and then hit the bar and watched JLA play. There were three fof them, although one was hidden at the back. Quite intense, but a bit muddy and unclear. There are loads of bands in that lie, and they're not really my thing either.

After the bands finished, I chatted to people for another three hours or so. James Rose was there, which was good as I don't see him often. He humoured me by breakdancing to Rock The Casbah. Caroline was there too, which was even better as I never ever see her. Roy was there too, of course. Was bad - discussed Sara's particularly impractical boots (far less practical than the ones she was wearing) in front of CJ, which was perhaps unnecessarily malicious.

Afterwards, CJ and myself went back to his for a swift pint and then caught a taxi to a party off Leith walk. Roy was there, of course. After a while there we decided, for reasons which didn't make much sense even at the time, to go to another party off towards Slateford. Roy, surprisingly, was not there. I'd half expected him to be sitting there when we arrived. We stayed there until what must have been nearly 8, and before keeling over I got to see the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean. It looked good fun, and I can see the Keef Richards thing. The big gripe was that the scenery around their "Port Royal" is nothing like the south coast of Jamaica, and in particular nothing at all like Port Royal. To be honest, it looked more like pictures I've seen of islands in the South China Sea. I have mentioned to you all that I used to live in Jamaica, haven't I?

Anyway, after three parties and a festival last night, I'm feeling a bit wrecked. Now it's time for a spot of dinner, and then off to the pub with Finn et multiple al to discuss Neon matters. What on earth has happened to my life? I'm never this busy.

Now that's just cruel. ~grin~ I'd have been terribly disappointed in you if you hadn't, though.

I have mentioned to you all that I used to live in Jamaica, haven't I?
Can honestly say you've never mentioned it to me, though I may not have been paying attention if you mentioned it to everyone. Gosh. :)

Hope the evening has been good.

It seemed compulsory.

It doesn't become relevant all that often, I suppose. Two and a half years in the mid-seventies while my dad was working for the government, in their famously salubrious prisons.

I'm really not sure about that. I think it makes a few things make a lot more sense (though if you ask me what, I won't be able to tell you, not least because it is currently 'aaargh' in the morning and by 'sane' in the morning I won't remember. :)

It's been quiet, which is what i wanted from it after My Silly Weekend. Two pints of Addlestone's in the Hoose with Neon types. And soon, bed.
I really must get a life one of these days...they sound like fun...

Don't recall you ever mentioning Jamaica to me, but then I don't remember talking to you about much except music...and possibly beer...
Well, this is true, I suppose. Those are very fine topics, though.
Fine topics! There *must* have been others, I'm sure, but what with all the music & beer that was usually happening...

Right - back to work - 3am finish *again*...
